Key findings are:
  • Growth sector Robotics: Between 2014 and 2019, annual European Robotic VC investment volume has increased almost six-fold from EUR 131m to EUR 769m and number of deals has tripled from 69 to 212
  • No COVID-19 impact has been identified to date
  • Small deals dominate: Most deals with disclosed transaction volumes are smaller than EUR 10m and 57% of the deals are early-stage financing transactions
  • German companies too secretive: Only about 18% have disclosed transactions volumes, significantly understating the total funds raised by German companies compared to their competitors
